I am a Reader (Associate Professor) in Computer Science at the University of Lincoln. My research interests are mostly in machine perception for robotics and autonomous systems, including sensor fusion, active vision and qualitative spatial reasoning. I hold a Laurea in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padua and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Essex. Before joining Lincoln, I was a researcher at the University of Oxford. I have also several years of professional experience in the industry working as embedded systems software developer. Currently I am a Principal Investigator in two large European H2020 projects, ENRICHME and FLOBOT, as well as in ActiVis, which is partially sponsored by a Google Faculty Research Award, and other smaller projects. See my research page for more details.
